Make sure to take the "TEST"!

When thinking about buying a new car, one of things you need to put on your list is a test drive. Many people say that buying a car is one of the biggest investments you will make other than a home. With so many things to consider and actually it can get confusing, make sure that the number one thing that you do when in the decision making process, is test drive!

If you are thinking about a pre-owned vehicle, two test drives are recommended. This will be a little more time consuming, but it allows you the opportunity to evaluate the quality and the mechanical wellness of the vehicle. The test drive of a vehicle is an extension of the inspection process. It's your chance to see how the vehicle performs and whether you can detect any problems with its drive-train, steering, suspension, brakes or other important system.

Try to eliminate as many distractions as possible, and concentrate on the vehicle. You should try to drive any vehicles you're considering all on the same day so you can more easily compare them. Spend as much time as possible behind the wheel--at least 30 minutes--and drive it over different types of road surfaces and in various driving conditions. Plan your own driving route before you visit the dealership.

Walk around the car, take a good look. You might consider getting a pad and pen and noting the things you like about each car and things that concern you. Make sure you can adjust the seat and/or steering wheel for a clear view of important gauges, like the fuel gauge and the speedometer. Make sure your body is a “perfect” fit in the seat.

Whatever car you are looking for, whether a Dodge, Jeep or Chrysler~ make sure that you are comfortable and are sold on that particular vehicle.
